Men are as conscious about their skin as women. And like women, men also need to take care of their skin. If you think you do not have the time to go to a specialist or pamper your skin yourself, then there is nothing to worry. All you need to do is take good care of your facial skin and know what to do to keep it healthy.

The Importance of Face Washing

First step to a healthy skin is to keep it clean. You might think that since you shave so the shaving cream does the cleaning for the day. It is true, but washing the face once is not enough. Wash your face at least three times a day, with a mild soap. Avoid using deodorant soaps as they contain harsh chemicals that might harm your skin. And also use a good scrub. It is essential as scrub will remove the dead cells and make the skin smooth.

After cleansing you should moisturize. Apply a light moisturizer after cleansing and shaving. Again go for a product that is natural. In case you end up with something that is not natural, then make sure that your moisturizer has less chemical. Specialists prefer vitamin E, Aloe Vera oil etc. they are good for intensive moisture. They are available in capsule and liquid form. If you can not find the liquid form then break a capsule and take out the liquid inside and apply to your skin.

Toner for Men

If you think men do not need toner, think again. Everyday your skin is exposed to dirt, pollution and what not. Use toners and astringents that contain glycolic or alpha hydroxyl acids. They work as great toners and reduce the size of the pores.

If you have oily skin, then you have to wash your face again and again. But often it becomes hard to find time for that. In that case you can use a light powder. Apply a little bit of powder on your face after shaving and feel fresh throughout the day.

Last but not the least, wear sunscreen whenever you go out. The UV rays from the sun damages the skin the most.

All these tips will not come in handy if you do not follow a proper diet. Drink lots of water, avoid smoking and eat lots of vegetables.
